Hello there, beauties! How’s the week going?
I’ve got new lippies right here and been trying them out lately. I bought some interesting nude shades of lipsticks from Vice Cosmetics and some matte lipsticks on sale from The Face Shop. But let’s talk about those I got from Vice Cosmetics.
Vice Cosmetics is owned and created by one of Philippines’ top celebrities, Vice Ganda. Her line of makeup consists mainly of lipsticks – liquid matte lipsticks and matte lipsticks. It’s been launched and available for awhile now, but I have to be honest that I wasn’t particularly drawn to trying them out because I’ve read and heard some reviews. However, I also watched a couple of vloggers do first impressions and swatching of the lipsticks. The brand initially came out with lip kits similar to the Kylie lip kits – so one lip kit contains a lip liner and a liquid lipstick in the same shade. It seems that the bad reviews were for the lip liners, so I noticed that they don’t offer that anymore. In the makeup counters and drugstores where they are available, I usually see just the matte lipsticks and the liquid matte lipsticks.
What got me interested really were the beautiful and unique shades available, though I was a little apprehensive of the formulation, especially for the liquid matte lipsticks. I heard that they are drying on the lips.
However, considering how affordable they are, I decided to just get the few shades that I really like. I mostly like the nude shades. Both the Phenomenal Matte Liquid Lipstick and the Good Vibes Matte Lipstick retails for Php195.00 each. So I got the shades Pony and Whoops Kiri for the liquid lipsticks, and Aura for the matte lipstick. The shade names are actually quite funny and very descriptive of Vice Ganda’s personality.
I got here some lip swatches to show you how pretty these nude shades are.
I’ve got to say though, I was really surprised about the formulation, texture and feel of these, especially of the Phenomenal Liquid Matte Lipsticks. They feel very lightweight, are transfer-free (wow!), and last for the whole day. While they can feel a bit drying, it’s not as drying as how I thought they would be. Applying a lipbalm and exfoliating beforehand makes a difference, but I really like the longevity and them being transfer-proof. No more lipstick stains on the coffee mug. Admittedly though, you have the re-apply after a meal, but the color stays on anyway. The trick is in applying just a tiny layer on top of the lips.
As for the Good Vibes Matte Lipstick, I have nothing bad to say. It’s a creamy matte lipstick that yields good color pay-off. It’s also non-drying and lasts until your next meal. The shade Aura that I got was a really good everyday matte lipstick shade.
Have you tried these yet?
Anyway, Happy Beauty Friday!
