Beauty Friday: New Skincare Faves

I’m having breakouts, guys. I’m talking pimples.

Yep, I tried covered them with a heart, but they’re all up there!

Mostly in the forehead, and I really don’t know why.   It started some time in February and I think it was due to work stress. But it could also be a sign to change my pillows? What happened to my #clearskin2018 goals?

So anyways, I was on a hunt for really more effective skin care products after consulting my sister/derma.  I also got some treatment to treat my skin better. While I’m still trying out a few stuff, here are my favorite discoveries so far.

  • Vitamin E Stick from Healthy Options

I got this nifty stick for only Php295.00, and it’s a vitamin E stick.  I’m also holding it in the close up photo earlier in this post. Currently using it for my undereyes, since I discovered (in utter panic, actually!) that I’m having dry skin in my undereye area. It’s working so far and I layer it with another moisturizing product because you know, I fear wrinkles. I mean, I’m not ready for them yet!

  • Acne Dote Invisible Treatment Gel from Alba Botanica (also from Healthy Options)

It’s basically just a salicylic acid treatment gel.  It’s been very effective to kill any new pimples coming out overnight.  And since it’s invisible, I can also use it over makeup.

  • Celeteque Sun Care Matte Moisturizer 
  • Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser


I also needed a mattifying yet moisturizing sunblock.  Apparently, my skin was getting thirsty and the nightly moisturizers that I use aren’t enough.  I also needed something for daytime.  Fortunately, I found this version of Celeteque in Watson’s.  It’s SPF30, non-comedogenic, and feels very light on the skin. It also works great under makeup/foundation.  Over it, I also apply this Baby Skin Pore Eraser on certain areas of the face to minimize my pores.  It’s a basic primer but works effectively so far.

And since I’ve been breaking out, I’m also restraining myself to put a lot of product on my face.  My foundations are put on hold for now and I’m back to using some light BB creams instead.  If I really need to look polished especially for work, I only use my stick foundations on specific areas for light coverage. Nothing too heavy for now.

So yeah, that’s all for now. I have yet to review how my other skin care products are performing while I’m treating my breakouts.  To be honest, I really hate my skin right now.  I’ve been trying to sleep longer, cutting my social media habits at night, and eating healthy.  More importantly, drinking gallons of water and liquids – because I really think I’m probably just overall dehydrated. Oh well, let’s see how it goes.
