Five Evening Hours in Vigan, Ilocos Sur

I think the last time I visited Vigan was in 2008.  Wow, almost 10 years ago!  It was my first backpacking trip after finishing law school.  We went from Baguio to Vigan, Laoag, and Pagudpod.

So, while I already visited the requisite museums back then and we were only there as a sidetrip for our trip to La Union, we only spent a few hours in Vigan.  Five hours to be exact, after arriving at around 4pm in the afternoon.

So what is there to do in a few hours in Vigan? Walk around Calle Crisologo, watch the fountain show at Plaza Burgos, take photoshoots, and go on a foodtrip! Can I just say that the lighting in Calle Crisologo at night makes for the perfect shots? I used my new Huawei Nova2i for the photos, just to test it out.

For dinner, we had some Vigan longganisa in a small restaurant along Calle Crisologo.  Then we had some Ilocos empanada in Plaza Burgos, where there’s a cluster of eateries serving street food and snacks. I also bought an Abel-Iluko blanket from one of the shops, it was actually what I came to Vigan for. It costs only Php450 in Vigan, but in Manila, it sold for a Php1000!

Anyway, enjoy our photos!
