Beauty Friday: Tea Tree Oil Shampoo from Maple Holistics

I was sent this 8 oz. Tea Tree Oil Shampoo by Ms. Hayley Jones of Maple Holistics (Hi, Hayley!) last year.  I was only able to try it since January, so I’m posting this up as my overall review.

First things first, what is Maple Holistics? It’s an all natural skin care brand based in the US that has one goal in mind: “to provide a natural, holistic range of premium products which can enhance hygiene, health and daily living”. Their products range from therapeutic shampoos, facial masks, bath soaks and more. All their products are made in the US,  all natural, cruelty-free, sulfate-free and safe for color.

I’ve started using all natural shampoos back in 2010 and I stuck to that regimen ever since. As a beauty and skin care junkie, I’m always looking to find new brands, whether local or international, that are all natural and chemical-free, especially for the hair. So I was glad that Hayley reached out to me so I can try out one of their shampoos.

The Tea Tree Oil Shampoo is one of their therapeutic shampoos and it costs about $8.95 for a bottle. It claims to moisturize hair and scalp, it can promote healthy hair growth and it can soothe irritated scalp and skin. It works as a clarifying shampoo and cleans away all the dirt and grime from my hair effectively.  Upon my first use, the tea tree oil scent was so luxurious that I felt like I was in a spa. On the bottle it says to take a few minutes to let the therapeutic benefits be absorbed, and I find myself following it every time.  More so because the scent was so relaxing and calming, even on days when I’m rushing in the morning.  It also lathers up fairly well.

Since it’s a clarifying shampoo, it’s best to use followed by a moisturizing conditioner.  While I don’t have the Tea Tree Oil Conditioner that they also have, I’m assuming that it should smell the same and would make the relaxing tea tree oil scent last longer. After washing my hair, I’ve noticed that after my hair dries, it has this slight volumized effect, which I love because my hair is baby fine.

So overall, I like this Tea Tree Oil Shampoo so far.  It’s been part of my constant rotation of all natural shampoos now.

If you’d like to know more about Maple Holistics and their range of all natural products, visit them here, where you can also order online. They have bath products, health food products, skin care, and some essential oils.  I’m personally curious about the Castile Soap.

Happy Beauty Friday!

P. S. It’s also a long weekend because of Chinese New Year in the Philippines. So enjoy! I’m headed to La Union today, but I’ll tell you all about it soon!
