Another day, another post, and this time, it’s part three of my Taiwan travel post.

On our first day in Taipei, we visited the usual tourist spots like the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall and the Longshan Temple before we did our free walking tour in the afternoon. We began early – around 8am and had our breakfast at 711 in the Taipei Main Station.

The sun was shining really brightly on that day and we could really feel the summer season in Taipei. Having come from Manila which was experiencing some heavy monsoon rains when we left, it was a welcome treat to be walking on a bright sunny day on the grounds of the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. Aside from getting an unexpected tan and sweating heavily during the day, I wasn’t complaining because it meant better photos and bright blue skies throughout the day.

At the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall, we were able to watch the ceremonial changing of the guards which goes on every hour beginning from 9am.

Meanwhile, at Longshan Temple, we were greeted by both tourists and locals paying their respects and praying at the temple.
