Sometimes sheer, sometimes with more pigment.
That’s precisely my first thought when I began playing around with this nude eyeshadow palette from Loreal. It’s called the La Palette Nude and I have the Beige version. Apparently though, when I searched online for reviews, I saw that what I had was the Asian version.
It’s been out since last year and I only got mine recently out of a Lazada online sale. Normally, it’s for Php800, but I got mine for only around Php600. I guess if it wasn’t on sale, I wouldn’t even think of buying it. And probably because I’m in a drugstore nude eyeshadow phase. Lol. Although, I have to admit that I was able to checkout the palettes already in stores before and thought that if I were to get one, it would have to be on a sale.
Anyhoo, I think it’s a lovely nude eyeshadow palette for both makeup newbies and experts. I chose the Beige version, because I already have similar shades in my Max Factor palette for the Rose one. I said sheer earlier though, because some of the lighter shades barely show up on my skin. In fact, in my swatches, I had to do several swipes to make the colors show up. But the darker pigments, especially the dark browns in several shades, pack a lot more pigment.
All of them when used together blend well, with only a bit of fallout. But the lighter shades just need a little more TLC. The shadows come in a healthy variety of mattes, satins, and glitter. My faves would have to be the browns and bronze.
As for the packaging, I think I’m starting to like it. It comes with a handy mirror, and the brush that came with it was quite useful surprisingly. The sponge applicator worked really well (it’s what I used for the swatches). However, I find that when I use my denser eyeshadow brushes, I am able to get the colors work and blend well together more. Plus points for being travel-friendly, too.
So anyway, if ever you’re in the market for some drugstore nude eyeshadows, I think you won’t go wrong with this one. Here are some looks I did with it and some closer shots –
