One part of planning for a trip is the packing of luggage. It’s a process and skill all at the same time. I’m proud to say that among my group of friends, I usually carry the smallest bag or suitcase. And I credit all that to proper planning of outfits and learning how to fit everything I need in one bag.
However, I also thank the travel Gods for inventing these amazing vacuum bags. I got them in Japan Home stores and some in Daiso, for only Php88 each. You can also find them in SM stores or at ACE Hardware, although prices may be slightly higher in those stores.
The instructions on how to use these are so easy. They are in Japanese, but with English translation. If you can’t or won’t read, there’s also an illustration to guide you. Since they are made for travel, there’s no need for an air vacuum to carry along (which may add up to your luggage weight!) – instead, all you do is just roll ’em up! However, instead of merely rolling and pressing them to let out the air, I prefer sitting on them while they are rolled. It’s so convenient and easy!
In my 21-inch luggage for my Euro trip, I have four large ziplocked travel vacuum bags containing all my clothes and winter essentials. Just to illustrate, I was able to pack the following items:
- 3 sweaters
- 1 thick cardigan
- 1 light trench coat
- 3 HEAT TECH tops
- 2 winter leggings
- 2 jeggings
- 1 tank top
- 1 long-sleeved blouse
- 4 socks
- 1 thick scarf
Needless to say, without these lifesavers, I won’t be able to fit all my winter clothes in one bag. I’m already so used to packing light, and these made my suitcase even lighter. I love it!
Now this only means one thing for me: more space equals more shopping trips! Haha!
As you read this post, I’m probably already at the airport waiting for our flight to Rome. But I will still be doing some random posts to update you. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy some of my scheduled posts as well. See ya!
