Beauty Friday: Let’s do Lashes

Hey, ladies and gents! How’s the week coming along? It’s been a busy one for me, and I didn’t really have the time to do my usual scheduled blog posts.  I know, sorry about that! :p

But since today is Friday, let’s do some beauty talk about lashes and mascaras.  You know, something light and fun and easy.  For instance, I’d like to know, what’s your signature makeup look? Do you have one? Is it red lips everyday? Or is it some smokey eye makeup with all the works? Or a smokey eye using brown or bronze eyeshadows?

Five years ago, I used to do the whole black gel liner and thick lashes everyday for the office.  And maybe some pop of bright colored lipstick with some pink cheeks.   So that was my thing, my eyes and my lips.  However, lately, I’m beginning to find a new signature makeup look for myself and it all begins with BIG BIG lashes using a good ol’ mascara.

Without mascara, I kinda feel incomplete. A makeup look feels “blah” if you forget your lashes.  So for me, it’s all about the lashes you can  see, babe.

I’ve been trying on this False Lash Mega Manga Mascara from Loreal for two weeks now.  I know it’s been out since last year, but I only got to try it recently. At first, I didn’t really like it much because it doesn’t give me the volume I like.  It’s supposed to give BIG lashes, like how Japanese and Korean mascaras  should work, hence the word “Manga”. I had some high expectations I guess. It took me awhile to figure out how to work it, and yeah, it delivers just enough volume.

Let me repeat, just enough.  But not quite. It’s not the same as how my Japanese mascaras work on me.

Still, I think it’s great for an everyday mascara. You can expect length and curl, but not volume.

Well, that’d be all for now, folks! Enjoy your weekend!
