When I travelled to Seoul with my friends, one of the most important places to visit was Nami Island, or what is known in Korea as “Naminara Republic”.  It was known to be a very picturesque place in anytime of the year.  But it was said to be most beautiful during fall, with the trees turning into different shades of red. It was also the location of some of the famous Korean series, like “Winter Sonata”.

From Wikipedia, it says that “Namisum is a tiny half-moon shaped island located in Chuncheon, South Korea”. But they also call it Naminara. Anyway, for me, it’s just Nami Island.

There are two ways to go to the island: 1) to ride a ferry like how we did; and 2) to go via a zipline. We initially wanted to try the second option, since it’s faster and not a lot of people are lining up for it.  Unfortunately though, not all of us were brave enough. Too bad, maybe next time.

The island also a lot of line trees that can be found all around.

When we visited, it was around September in 2014.  The season was still transitioning from summer to fall, so most of the trees were either still in green or yellow or peach.  The atmosphere was also a bit warm and humid and the ground very dry.  Nevertheless, I still think it’s one of the prettiest places I’ve been to in Seoul.

I also enjoyed the food we had there. We dined at the famous Lunchbox restaurant, and the Bibimbap was yummy.

Some group shots!

How about you, have you been to Nami Island? Enjoy the rest of the week!
