On a fine Tuesday evening last March 22nd, I dreamed a dream at The Theatre in Solaire.
To put it more clearly, my friends and I went to see the best musical play of all time – the Les Miserables. Oh, I love everything about it – from the stage design, the costume, the actors, and to all the songs! I had to refrain myself from singing along.
It’s running its Manila leg for this year and we scored our tickets well in advance – in fact, around November last year when the tickets went on sale. While we only got the tickets for the upper balcony for about Php3,000++, the view of the stage was still amazing. I actually merged my friends for this one night – one group with my highschool friends and another with my travel buddies. I went straight from my Makati office and was really hoping not to be late. It was an amazing experience. It was also such a treat to watch Rachel Ann Go play Fantine. Her voice was so powerful and clear, she was perfect for the role and the Filipino audience couldn’t be any prouder.
Catch it while it’s still on and here in Manila. At least you don’t need to travel abroad just to see the play personally. I think they’re running it until May 1.
